Storage Capacity

The maximum size of an NTFS volume is defined[1] as 232 clusters - 1 cluster

Using a 64-kilobyte (KB) cluster (the maximum NTFS cluster size), the maximum size of an NTFS volume is 256 TB minus 64 KB. Using a 4-KB cluster (the default NTFS cluster size), the maximum size of an NTFS volume is 16 TB minus 4 KB.

The MediaSmart Servers are formatted using the default cluster size of 4KB. This allows a maximum storage capacity of 16TB minus 4KB per volume.

However, Drive Extender is NOT limited to 16TB in the storage pool. Although the pool appears to the user as one Volume, it actually isn't.
