Thanks for sharing.

Unfortunately, I am getting the software may be out of date message.
Does anyone have the v3.0 update recovery iso?

Thanks

just go a few posts before yours.
There is a download .
it is a very slow site and it is a iso file so you will need to burn it to a cd.

Hi, anyone have an updated link for the EX470 Recovery disk disk image file? I've checked the previous links in this thread and wouldn't you know it, none of them work any longer. I guess that's what I get for trying to use a Home Server that is over 10 years old, but it's fun! Maybe someone can throw it on a Google Drive and I can D/L it? I'd mucho appreciatatapatato it!

Thanks.

The software images are not compatible across hardware versions.

I have created a new Drive. I ripped the disks to ISO, then zipped them. Please find here: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

The download link for the 47x software package from the above post on Tue Aug 30, 2016 4:12 pm at the bottom of page 16 is still live.

Unfortunately I don't have a 47x any more to install them and see if the iso's happen to have the HP 3.0 updates pre-installed. But if they don't, the MSS will still run great with just the 1.3 updates.

Recover is ok, but when install reboot the server, server never loading ,is still black screen with a grey bar (loading bar) but never finsih the loading bar.

I try to factory reset and recover, but always is the same....and if i try to install ubuntu server, installation disk only recongnize internal disk (250MB) not the others disks...

Whenever I would see my server's OS install is stuck, 95% of the time either the terminal firewall wasn't fully disabled (there are 3 places it has to be disabled- Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools\Windows Firewall With Advanced Security\Windows Firewall Properties), an antivirus program is in the way, there is still M$ or HP software on the client that hasn't been shut off, or your not directly connected between the client and server with at least a cat 5e LAN cable and internet disabled.

Hope that helps

it could be the os drive is bad.
Two options
Use a new drive to install or
You might need to take the os disk out of the server connect it to ypur pc and run diskpart clean all.
Also you could at this point run chkdsk on the drive or after you proceed with clean but prior to placing it back in the server.
That will make it just like it was when you purchased the drive.
Just make sure you run diskpart on the correct drive on your pc.

If you have never used diskpart google it before attempting to use it.

Ruben's advice is good because the OS is sensitive to poor disks for sure.

Ive always removed the install disk during the first reboot. Have you tried that?

Also, if I remember correctly, a few years ago using w7x64 I tried to restore my original 470 before selling it but it wouldn't cooperate. I think it was Guardian who told me he had to use a XP laptop to get the early v1.1-1.3 HP software to install. So I picked up a dell d630 on the cheap and it handled the install no worries.
