I was having trouble uploading photos to facebook and e-mail....I checked on the hp website and it said to download some kind of program with the file name SP49815. It was supposed to fix the issue but when I download it and try to allow it to go though the process to fix my driver I get an error code that says the update was unsuccessful (9993)....I am not very tech smart and could really use the help to get this problem fixed because I have to use my computer for work....thanks in advance!!! Program Title: HP MediaSmart Photo Application Update

Hello, it sounds like you are talking about a personal PC and not the mediasmart server.
The file SP49815 I believe should be run on a personal PC.

Edit: This looks like the file your are talking about and this is for a PC with the HP MediaSmart Photo Application Update label on it.
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=4269976&prodNameId=4299340&swEnvOID=4058&swLang=8&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=pv-88064-1&printver=true

I would try rebooting your PC before trying to load the file, I would also right click on the file and see if run as administrator is an option.

Edit2:

You must be logged on as an administrator to install this update.
You must have a Microsoft Windows 7 operating system.

It could be a million things, try to find a geek friend. Your PC probably needs lots of windows updates and HP updates for starters.
That is assuming there are no viruses/malware/spyware involved.

PS. Make sure the photo program is not running when you run that file. Running programs will not update sometimes.

Good luck

Cool, It's always good to have a geek on standby! :D
I work on a lot of peoples PC's and I have a MOM discount (will work for cookies) \:D/
Glad to here you are able to use your pc.

Running disk cleanup a couple times a year will help.
Keeping all the updates windows and browser and HP will help.
