A search will turn up lots of hits on this, here's a good starting point:

I appreciate that. The message is hardly 8 hours old, so I want to wait a while to see if someone responds with information about the error.

The link I gave you has all the information you need about the error, it's likely a corrupt ini file and also likely why you had trouble with my Fan Control Add-In.

Do you mean this link. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6767&start=0#p56017?
Is there a reference to how to replace the ini file? Are you saying the .ini file that's corrupt exist on my desktop that's running the console and connector software? or that their is an .ini file that exist on the server itself?

Never mind. Followed the advice to the letter. Now I can't even install the connector nor does any of the server software in my p.c install. It's bricked. All lights are flashing and on though....Christmas tree ornament?

Following the links of advice and trying to re-install the server software to correct the corrupt .ini file referred to so frequently, basically deadheaded my server. I only have the WinXP versions of the software and am running Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. It was at least running prior, but now I can't even connect to it again. I went back and tried to install the connector via a shell command. But it's not working now. Any suggestions? Please only reply if you have experienced this problem of a similar problem, and what you did about it.
Much thanks!

The connector will not work till you complete the server recovery .
So it sounds like you did not complete all the steps.
And yes it can be very fickle getting the server in recovery mode.

I don't think Yakuza was talking about the connector but a server recovery not reset.
meaning direct connect the server to the pc.
run the server cd from pc. Not the connector cd
when prompted with paperclip in hand push it in the tiny hole on the front after power up of the server to get the violet led
It will preserve your data except for client backups and additional accounts.
But it will rebuild the os including the ini file.
it is probably the most glitch way to fix it.

And win 10 makes no difference in this case it is the client restore from backups that become a issue.
Because you need a driver on usb for the nic on the win10 pc that works.
Then you have to deal with the hidden partitions on win 10.
All my clients are either win 10 home or win 10 pro.
recovery works fine and installing the connector works fine.
As long as the server os is ok.

Server recovery won't fix a corrupt .ini file, it'll just get restored. He needs to fix the file on the server. The 47x models are different from the 48x and 49x servers in this regard.

Will a full server software reload fix it?
