Hello, I am having a problem replacing disk 0 (the bottom disk with the OS on it). The problem is with the windows home server setup. I get a message saying "server initialization failed". I have tried with all 4 disks in a few times, rebooting and reinstalling the software. I have just tried again with disk 1, 2, and 3 removed, but still the same problem. The unit seems to be alive though. I have popup messages saying "network health critical". Remote desktop works, up to the point where it asks for a password, which of course I no longer have.
Do I have to do something with the master slave setting of the new hard drive? I am thinking not, as I have not read that anywhere.
The original disk 0 has failed. It was 750Mb. The new disk is 2Tb, the only 3.5 inch disk in stock at the store. It is a WD blue.
Currently all blue lights on the server are blinking slowly and in unison. This, from what I read, means that the server has not yet been initiated from a PC. Which is correct.
Should I take out the hard drive and run a checkdisk on it from my laptop???
