Hello all,

I've had a 1TB Green Drive die on me in my EX470. So, how exactly does folder duplication protect my data? Is it as simple as removing the drive in the connector software?

I had folder duplication enabled on all folders except the Videos. I know I'm going to lose some movies, but there were was too much data there to enable folder duplication.

I have a 2TB drive in there for server backup as well, but I have not ran the backup for awhile.

Thanks for any advice,

Mach1

If the drive died then it died.
So you can't really use the remove add/ utility.
However depending on how many drives you have and free space and duplication settings.
Hold onto the dead drive .
Install a new drive in the server.
If something appears to be missing.
Then attempt to recover from the bad drive.
Via connecting it to a client pc . Enable view hidden files.
Goto deshares folder and see if you can copy missing data to the new drive.
