So, my EX475 was starting to get long in the tooth and running slower. I decided to research alternatives and came across Amahi. With that, I wanted to back up all of my Data (~5 TBs, well 2.5 without duplication) to three 1TB FW800 drives. I plugged the FW800 into my Macbook Pro and started to transfer overnight, but after ~100 GBs it stopped. I woke up and transferring over the network was painfully slow.

I had a 1 TB HDD in an external eSATA structure and was able to hook it up to the FW800 drive because it had an eSATA port and transfer that way. With success, I took the HDDs out of the EX475 and tried to do them the same way, but they couldn't be recognized. It is as if they have no Master Boot Record. I thought WHS drives were essentially NTFS and you could pull them out and recover data?

I have tried with Windows and Mac (with NTFS reader) to no avail. I tried putting the drives back in the EX475 and I can "see them" on the network, but I get an error that they essentially don't exist. Did I lose all of my data? Anyway to recover? That was months of CD/DVD backups to stream to my PS3.
