I have an HP 495 MSS that when I set up in 2010 the remote access feature it worked out of the box. However, the LAN function was accidentially disabled which required a recovery to install drivers necessary to reactivate LAN. This was done in early 2011. I got the machine working again but remote access no longer functions. I have tried all the suggested options except a full system restore with the restore disc that wipes the entire system. Is there some other solution to see if the drivers for Remote Access to work again? The recovery process was tedious and over 2 hours. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on solutions.

What have you tried to fix it? How are you testing to see if it works or not? What error messages are you getting?

I used the recovery disc that shipped with the product. I had three different IT people out to look at it and none were familiar with HP MediaSmart Server nor Home Server edition. How do I know it is not working - Remote Access setup fails, cannot access the webpage, etc. etc.

Are you testing from inside the home? If so that probably won't work, you need to test from outside the home network. What's the exact error message from Remote Access setup? If it's the last Verifying step, then you can often safely ignore that.
