How do you get into bios setup? The only option on boot is F11. Which does nothing although it says it is entering BBS.I have been searching for about a week for the answer or looking for a bios mod.

I found a bios mod and updated bios for my ProLiant N40L. But the bios on that machine was already unlocked and accessible.oo

I am new to these systems and HP does not have very good support.

I have not messed with a 310, but all of the other servers need a jumper to unlock the bios.
Search for the vga adapter and you will see the jumper I'm talking about...
Goodluck and let us know how it goes.

P.S. Assuming you are able to take the thing apart, maybe get some help from a geek buddy :-)

I finally found it from doing some more searching and thinking it must be a jumper setting. There was one open jumper installed the jumper to close and now have del to enter the bios. I got a picture with my cell phone but see no way to attach it to the message.

Strange thing I find is that the lights do not work as expected when any system software other than HP WHS v1 (that is if pulsing aqua blue is normal) is installed. With WHS 2011 or WS 2012 installed the power and network are fine and solid but the health light flashes (pulses) blue and there are no lights on for the drives. I do not understand what exactly controls the lights is it hardware or software? or a combination of the two.

EDIT: Found the light info here finally: Lights Management Full Package

Thank you for your reply.
