Hey all,
I recently acquired a DataVault X310 for free, it came without any recovery media, so I sourced it online https://community.hpe.com/t5/StoreEasy- ... -p/6961391 but it fails to recover.
The server boots successfully into recovery mode, I can choose between recovery and factory reset, yet factory reset fails with this error

It successfully creates the 20GB partition but fails to format it

I tried a different HDD, different PC, also I was able to successfully install WHS2011, so this does not seem to be a hardware issue. Perhaps any of you have an idea what's wrong?

I found yet another Restore DVD https://archive.org/details/hp-server-w ... server-v-1 (in German) and I was able to restore the DataVault. Interestingly, I swapped volume.image from the other English restore DVD and it did work too.
