I have post this elsewhere on this site but felt the need to do so again because I noticed something interesting about the way the billing posted on my account.

The other day I ordered a CFI-B53PM Port Multiplier (PM) Backplane the same backplane used by Backblade in their custom built storage pods. I ordered it from www.storage4mac.com but the billing interestingly enough showed up as SANS DIGITAL.

I immediately went to the SANS DIGITAL web site to see if they offered that card there and for some reason its not listed. Also I wanted to see if they had a CFI 4 port backplane but I did not happen to see those listed.

What I did notice they had and I have seen them listed elsewhere was the 5 bay cages and powersupplies to power them so I will be ordering a couple 5 bay cages and a powersupply for evaluation purposes here to see if its a viable solution for my up and comming build of course I would need to order a couple more CFI-B53PM backplane but I already know I need a total of 6 for my project just to handle the 30 drive capacity I desire.

Of course if anyone happens to know of a case configured to handle 30 Hard Drives I would love to evaluate that too but I think the approach I am about might not be a pretty approach but certainly a cost effective one.
