A little background before we get started...
I updated the LX195 with all WHS and HP MSS updates. No idea if this is necessary.
I installed the SanEncore add-in then updated it to HP MSS 2.5. No idea if this is necessary.

Now to Install HP MSS 3.0

Take HP_EX48X_RECOVERY ISO and extract it. Add in the PXE folder and replace WHSRecovery.exe from the original LX195 Server Recovery Disc.
Execute WHSRecovery.exe and follow the steps.
Once it says Success: Server is now in recovery mode, click next.
Choose Server Recovery, click next.
Click next
Wait....
When Recovery is complete click next then finish.
It will install the WHS connector and attempt to connect.
Don't worry about it not being able to find it, we'll get to that so just cancel it when on the Home server not found screen.

The server will restart and will be in a endless reboot due to a blue screen STOP 0x0000007B error due to the storage controller driver missing so lets add it.
Pull the hard drive and place it in another machine and use your current os or winPE and download driverinjection and open it.
Click next and choose Windows Server 2003.
Click next and choose Standard IDE.
Browse to your ?:\WHS's windows\system32\config\system file and click open.
Click next twice
Click Finish
Nows a good time to download the NIC driver so download setup_v11.24.5.3 and put it somewhere on your WHS drive.

Reboot your computer and make it boot your LX195 drive.
It should boot into HP MSS 3.0 and do a bunch of stuff and reboot a few times.
If your prompted for drivers for hardware found cancel all of them since the computer were using is not the one we want to install drivers for.
If all goes good you should now be in WHS and be presented with the eula.
Install the Marvell Miniport Driver by unziping the setup_v11.24.5.3.zip file and clicking setup.exe
Once finished shut down your computer and put your Hard Drive back into your LX195 and connect it to your LAN and power it on.

Now from the HP_EX48X_RECOVERY CD install WHSCONNECTORINSTALL.exe located in cd:\HP_EX48X_RECOVERY\Home Server Connector Software\
Go through the prompts and it will install a lot of updates. If it errors out like mine did during the updates its no big deal, we have RDC now!
Open Remote Desktop connection and put in hpstorage and login with Administrator and the password you choose earlier.
Your LX195 will need to be restarted from all the updates installed so do that.

Launch the WHS connector again and it should complete all the updates and reboot your LX195.
Once it reboots, the connector will join your computer to WHS and will configure backup.
I got a error while configuring backup about the backup service.
RDC into your server then ensure windows backup service is running.
I hit Ctrl Alt End to pull up task manager and on the process tab click show from all users and end the twonkymedia cpu hogging process.
Then on the client your trying to setup the connector on hit back and configure backup should finish now.

Log into the connector and click settings then update, which will install power pack 3.
When it finishes it will ask to restart, do it.
Install updates again and reboot.
Check for any more updates and if there aren't any install the HP updates by going to settings, MediaSmart Server, then HP Update tab.
Do above again until it says no updates found.

Now theres still some missing drivers for various devices so lets get them.
Download from intel 945g chipset drivers for Windows Server 2003 x86, it will be called infinst_autol.exe.
Download from intel the display adapter driver 82945g for windows xp, it will be called winxp_14324.zip.
Install the chipset drivers through RDC then reboot the LX195.
RDC back in and extract winxp_14324.zip
Open Device Manager by navigating to Start, Control Panel, SYstem, Hardware tab.
Click the + on Display Adapters and right click Standard VGA and choose update driver.
Choose advanced then next.
Browse to the location you extracted winxp_14324.zip and choose the graphics sub directory, then click next.
It will find the display driver and install it, when done it will want to restart the computer, do it.

All done! :boxster:
