I'm new to this site, but have enjoyed reading about the MSS and what can be done with it. I finally took the plunge late last week and ordered an EX475 with an anticipated delivery date of mid-week. Some of the posts here and the tutorials on linked sites reference upgrading the memory module of the MSS. The performance gains would seem to make it a no brainer! While in the process of chasing down a link referenced in one of the tutorials, I notice that the Patriot 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) module used is now available at a much cheaper price on teh N##E** site. The regular price is $49.99, but a $20 rebate running through January nets it down to $29.99. Add $4.99 for shipping and it's a great deal. While I may not upgrade my MSS right out of the box, I figured the deal was too good to pass up, so I snagged one. Figured I'd pass the info along.

Regards,

TechVet

When I searched NewEgg (which is what I believe you referred to) did not find this memory. Here is the link to my search results.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLi ... +(PC2+5300)

Most likely I messed it up, but could you post a link to your "finding"? Thanks.

Much better response time if you load the server up with a bunch of websites or other add-ins. For me the RDP sessions are MUCH snappier, I hate waiting......

I concur with that statement. I upgraded mine yesterday morning and the RDP is much, much faster as is the log on to the console. Well worth doing... I also went with the 2 gig patriot upgrade as mentioned in this thread.
