I have an external Seagate Free Agent Pro 750gb harddrive that I can connect using one of the USB ports but the MSS will not recognize the drive when connected with an eSATA cable. Any ideas? I have called both Seagate and HP to no avail. Thank you,

Do you have another cable you can try? I have heard of problems with those eSATA cables because there is too much plastic around the connector so they don't make the proper contact. I have heard of some people getting them to work by carving away some of the plastic.

Thank you Sue. I can't believe that it was such a simple fix. It is working now. I really appreciate your help.

No problem. Did you have to carve on it, or did you have another cable? The answer might help others in the future.

Actually I noticed that the metal surround on the drive was not letting the cable go all the way in. I pushed a lot harder and put a slight downward force on the cable. Once I did this the cable went all the way in with a "click."
