Hello! I recently acquired an old HP MediaSmart server, and I'd like to install Ubuntu Server on it. However, I need a VGA cable to do that. Is there anyone here that can explain how to build one, or anyone that is willing to sell me one? Thanks

I believe in the WiKi there may be the specs on how to build one, but by the time you get the parts and more expensive would be the tools it would be easier to pickup one of these from ebay.

Not my sale, but where I point people looking for. This is just vga as you can see.

I have heard of people installing distros on another pc, enabling ssh and then moving the drive to the server. But I have not done so.

Here is a thread that explains how to do a blind install on a ex-490, maybe it will help:

Here is a thread that has info on building a vga/etc.

Good Luck and enjoy
