I am trying to connect via Remote Desktop to my HP Media Smart Server. The login dialog tells me I have to be a member of a log in group, or something like that. I have checked my account via the Console and can find nothing about an administrator log in. I thought I AM an administrator, or did I miss something in the setup?

The reason for this is to open a port in the firewall, I assume it has one, for another, second, wireless camera to write video files to the server. The first camera works fine. The second camera is working, I can watch the video output on this machine, however, the idea is to get a vid file put onto the server for review when I'm not here. I can also view the camera output, both of them, from my cell phone. But, again, that requires continuous monitoring. They are Linksys cameras through a Linksys wireless router.

Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way? Any assistance would be appreciated.

When you logon using Remote Desktop the user name is Administrator and the password is The actual Server Password.

Now if your attempting this connection through the Remote Access Web Page and are able to get on all you will see is the Console but there is a tweak to allow you to get on to the actual server desktop.

Your router would also have to have port 4125 forwarded to the router which would actually be done when Remote Access is setup if the router was abled to be configured by WHS. Alex has a Port Forwarding ADD-IN that may help simplify this too. http://www.mediasmartserver.net/add-ins/#WHSPortForward

Oh one more thing you may want to try installing Teamviewer on your server its actually quite nice and its free for personal use. LogMeIn was that way but they went to a totally paid model which is an option too which works. The only thing is the desktop colors would need to be adjusted if they presented a video display issue when viewing your camera feeds on the server.
