Hope someone can help me out.

Had to replace the system drive, so just did flat out restore.
Originally tried it on Win 7 X64 which obviously didn't work.

So I then threw Vista 32 bit onto a machine of mine and did the server restore - it got the server up and running, and I have the WHS client and HP Mediasmart s/w on the Vista machine - I did all of the available updates through the WHS console, and when all of that was done, the server still didn't have WHS x64 support on it.

I can't even login to the server via the http://myservername:55000 - I get an error, so can't try to install the WHS s/w on my Win 7 that way either.

Before all of this, I had NO ISSUES with my Win 7 machine and the WHS client - anyone have ideas of what I can do?

Thanks!

I am not at home so I do not have the link for you to download the latest client software for WHS which should work to install on your 64bit client. If you have difficulty finding it on Microsoft just send me a PM and I will assist you when I am home.

In the mean time can you tell me what the error was that you saw when attempting to download the client software from your server?

Hey - I found the program on the windows site for the x64, but it still doesn't work.

In terms of downloading the client from the server, I get:

Quote:
Server Error in "/" application
The Resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /home/default.aspx

After doing more reading, it appears the issue is MS no longer offers Power Pack 3 with the Win 7 updates, which almost makes it look like I am SOL?

Not really sure about the Power Pack 3. That error simply means the page is not there so maybe your recovery did not go as smoothly as you thought it did or you have a corrupt system file. If you make a Remote Desktop Connection to your server I would make certain that the server has all the HP and Microsoft Updates installed and there are a ton of them.
