Hi Hackerjac welcome to the forums!

Did you also get the 3 Discs with the server? You can verify if the server boots into its recovery mode but removing all the drives and disconnecting any USB and eSATA devices then turn the server one. Look at the lower LEDS the far right one is called the health light and in 2-5 mins it should blink PURPLE and RED if you see this then logon to your router and look for a device starting with the name MININT in the DHCP Listing. If you see this then you do not need the SMI files as your server can boot into its recovery mode and identify itself properly.

If you see the Health Light Blinking PURPLE and RED but do not see the device name MININT then look at the LAN Port to see if the Green Light is solid and the Amber Light is blinking. You server may be booting into its recovery mode but may have an issue with the LAN port or LAN connectivity at the server end, cable or the port its connected to on the router or switch.
