I have an EX475 that I've upgraded the processor and RAM, but the hard drives are the original drives that came with the system. I'd like some recomendations of current hard drives that I can install/replace my current drives with the maximum capicity that is currently available. I'm hoping not to break the bank, but I would like something that will hopefully last me over time. I have installed v3 of HP's software, and I am considering a future upgrade to WHS2011.

Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Eric

Plenty of options for you, your budget will determine the size you buy and to some degree the brand. There is lots of personal choice when it comes to drives, many have good experiences of a certain brand and tend to stick to them. Seagate, Samsung and Western Digital all seem to get regular thumbs up just be careful with Advanced Format drives and make sure you check the forums on what to do if you get one. Many drives only require a jumper to be set.

Personally, I am using Samsung and WD in my MSS and havent seen an issue on either.

There are plenty of posts with recommendations, here is one that may help.

Hard Drive prices are still higher than usual though.

Cougar thanks for the feedback. I'm little behind on hard drive specs and was hoping to get a couple pointers on current drives that I could plug in and use. But I see where I could get 30+ recomendations that would have my head spinning very quickly. I'll keep reading and see what I can find...
