I have an X310 Data vault. I have not been able to use TimeMachine because the software does not work. Is there an updated version for Maverick that will work? Please help! Thanks in advance!

I forget which version of OS X broke the Time Machine backup that use to work with the X310 and other HP Servers but there is no fix available that I am aware of. HP has discontinued the Data Vault and Media Smart Servers and with it went any future development to correct the issue. The software which made using time machine possible was developed by HP and not Microsoft. Sad part is WHS has also been discontinued by Microsoft and WHSv1 the version on your server reached its End of Life last year.

What I do know is that WS2012 has the ability to backup your MAC but who knows how long it would be before Apple breaks that compatibility. Other then that the server still can be used for central file storage and could be used to store MAC Backups using other software but I am not a MAC Person so I would have to defer to others as to how to store backups of your MAC on the server and then how you would go about using them to recovery the MAC or file structures in the backups.
