Hi Everyone,

So my quest to upgrade continues. I have new RAM, specifically Samsung M378T5263AZ3-CF7 PC2-6400U-666 4GB 2Rx8 800MHz 240-pin DIMM. I read somewhere that the EX485 is supposed to automatically detect new RAM, but when I fit the module and power on, nothing is displayed. I put the original 1 GB module and it works. I have 2 GB module similar to the 4 GB one, that also does not let the PC boot. I went into the BIOS and everything seems to be set to auto. Any ideas?

Did the ebay listing or Ad you bought the ram from say "AMD ONLY" I ran into this problem myself (luckily i had a AMD 470 so it wasnt a total loss) if it says AMD only, it will only work on the AMD box. the 485 is a Intel box

edit: I did a quick search with the memory you posted and it seems that memory *might* be only AMD compatible.

Turns out it's just the frequency/speed of the RAM. I found another one that is rated at 5300 and it works just fine.
