Hi guys, I have just had to restore my X510 after the O/S drive died (thankfully I didn't lose anything due to drive extender) but upon getting everything back to the way I like it turns out that the Disk Management add in is no longer free and sadly my Google skills have failed to locate the old free version, can anyone recommend an alternative?

Thanks.

I'm not aware of an alternative, hopefully someone else will chime in if they have a recommendation. I do feel that Disk Management is worth the low asking price.

I agree the newer version is worth the low cost plus it provides more information and is more accurate. http://www.tentaclesoftware.com/product ... management

I have been running the newer version of Disk Management since Sam Wood updated it and purchased a license when I downloaded it. Its a must have for WHS v1 and comes in handy with larger systems.

I used the free one back on the old ex470, but when I almost lost everything, That was the one app I didn't re-download. I googled out so sent ya an extra license just in case ya needed it.
I didn't see any attempt from anybody else to make something like it, it was very specific to WHS and theirs worked so good I guess nobody else even tried :-)
Once SMART came out, I didn't worry about anything else, but I don't have LOTS-O-Drives like some do.

Using Disk Management is very useful when your monitoring the servers transfer speeds and just which drives are active during a transfer. I recall spending quite a bit of time monitoring drive activity when I first stated adding drives to a Port Multiplier on an EX470 as I wanted to learn more about how DE worked. At that time I was ripping my movie collection and storing those movies on my server and wanted to see how the server would handle large file transfers. The first version which was free was good but the latest version was hands down the best.

Hey guys, thanks for the info, shame the isn't really anything else that does the job, luckily I managed to find an old site that still had the free version available for download. If it was a $2-3 donation I would prob spring for it as I like the software but I don't live in America and $10 is just too expensive just to occasionally look at temps and what % of each disk is in use.

I've had the paid Disk Management app for years. It has really come in handy these last few weeks with me removing the 30 data drives from my WHS v1. Since I can easily see which drive I'm removing. I only have 1TB of data left to copy over from my WHS to unRAID and then I can remove the final fifteen data drives.
