I generally like the Control4 system and, coincidentally, am in Atlanta. I just wish there was a better way to integrate it with MediaCenter/Windows Home Server.

It would be great to have a menu item w/in Media Center to view your cameras/adjust lighting or thermostats, etc.

ha that is a coincidence and I agree 100% that a better integration with WHS/MC would be awesome.

I used to have six or eight computers, but I decided to simplify. The WHS has facilitated that to a degree. I've consolidated all of my storage and Internet serving/downloading to one always-on server. I'm down to three laptops as a result.

I wonder if I'll ever build another desktop?

My home office. The Mac Pro is behind the chair on a holder under the desk. My family room (along with one AppleTV and a Slingbox) is behind the wall to the right, so I wired a couple of Ethernet drops into the wall plates on either side of the wall.

I am. The big photos on the right are from the ALMS at Laguna Seca in October 2009 and picture the P1 winning Acura followed closely by the 3rd place GT2 finisher, and the BMW that finished 6th place in GT2. The small photos on the left are from BMW-CCA autocross events which I have photographed. The RC model has the body from an E46 M3, and in the photo there is a Carerra 1/32 slot car model of the Duller Motorsport Z4M Coupe that won the Britcar 24 hour race back in 2006. I am the original owner of a 2002 330Ci, and I used to own a 2006 Z4 M Coupe.

Better stock up on fuel pumps

I've had a few hours of seat time in various 335s, and they're lots of fun to drive.

I finished rearranging my WHS in my closet recently to give me more space.

Hi there,

I've had my EX490 for a couple of weeks now, very happy with the unit. It resides in the top of the linen closet to keep it safe from our young kids. :D

The ceiling-mounted fan is 12V and is powered from the same PoE injector as the WRT54GL (wifi AP) mounted on the roof. The wifi link is used to keep an off-site backup of the WHS, I'm using Robocopy to do this to a WD World Edition drive kept at my friend's end of the link. He has the same thing going on at his place (he owns the white WD drive almost hidden behind the black drive in the middle).

The other gear is a Cisco 877 (ADSL), cheap 8-port gigabit switch, an Apple AirPort Extreme wifi AP and a Siemens Gigaset C470IP phone base station.

Is this too nerdy??? :-k

Cheers!

Very cool, thanks for showing your setup. How much data are you keeping backed up off-site with your friend?
